Bed & Breakfast, Self Catering in the New Forest
An ideal retreat to unwind and really relax.
Alderholt Mill is a picturesque working
Water Mill set in the lovely Dorset countryside, a real escape from the
everyday pressures. An ideal spot in which to relax and unwind and a great
situation from which to explore not only Dorset but also West Hampshire,
Salisbury and the Wiltshire Downs and of course the New Forest. We are in easy reach of the south coast, just a short drive from Bournemouth and Poole.
The Mill is situated on an island formed by the River Allen, a small tributary that joins the River Avon at the nearby town of Fordingbridge.
There is a large garden with plenty of water features, a wildlife pond, bog garden, and stream where wildlife abounds. Kingfishers and herons are frequent visitors.
Private fishing is available. Grayling and Trout are two of the species in the river, and we can supply a bait fridge and lock up for fishing tackle. Early breakfasts are available for the real fishing enthusiasts.
A Wi-Fi connection is available throughout the property.

The Tea Room and mill are open to the public at weekends and Bank holidays between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. from Easter through to the August Bank Holiday (inclusive).
Bed & Breakfast
We have 3 double and 1 twin bedded room all with en-suite shower rooms, and 1 single room with wash hand basin, private toilet and shared bathroom.
Self-catering accommodation
We have 3 self catering flats. 2 ground floor flats each sleeping 2, and one 1st/2nd floor flat sleeping 4/6.
Well behaved dogs accepted by prior arrangement.
On warm summer nights why not barbecue by the river?
There are of course many very good hostelries to choose from and we are happy to make recommendations and reservations.
